Making Launching More Approachable
As I was launching my own fashion line, I saw that information on developing a fashion line was hard to find, and the steps felt overwhelming. Let me share what I learned with you!
About Me
I have always loved fashion and creating and have always had the dream to have my own fashion line and be my own boss.
From getting my BFA in fashion design, working as a fashion designer, doing freelance design and development work, launching my own line, to teaching fashion classes at a university, I have seen the industry from many perspectives and gathered valuable information and connections.
While I was working at my corporate fashion design job, my coworker turned BFF, who had the same goal as me (starting our own lines), and I would talk everyday on our lunch break about how much we couldn’t wait to create the designs we had been dreaming of and turn them into a business. But, when working a full time job, it was hard to find the time. We looked forward to talking over our lunches about this dream.
And we eventually we realized, while we had been talking through the details everyday over lunch, we had made some serious progress on our businesses, while enjoying our lunches! We kept using this time together, and eventually launched our own lines! We call ourselves the lunch ladies, because we loved using our lunch breaks to do this, and because this time allowed us to get our brands launch ready while working our full time jobs. Whether you plan to launch over lunch, or some other time, I’m here to help you launch your own fashion line too!
